Gibralfaro is a fortress from the Muslim period that guarded the hill and the Alcazaba below it. The visit is mostly outdoors: you walk the wall circuit, look into the courtyards and visit a small interpretation centre. The view covers the old town, the port, the bullring and the coast to the west. Allow time for the climb itself.
What to look for
- Wall walk with views of the port and the bay
- The bullring seen from above
- Interpretation centre inside the castle
- Walled path linking the castle and the Alcazaba
