How it works
A ready-made itinerary is easy to find and an AI assistant writes one in seconds. What is hard to find is one that works on the day: open doors, realistic times, tickets bought. Citytripo starts from the data and builds the plan from it.
A base of stops for each city
Every city has 14 to 16 stops. Each stop has the same fields: visit time, opening days and hours, last entry, whether you need to book, the neighbourhood, the coordinates and the best time of day to go.
Where the data comes from
- Opening days and hours: the official website of each attraction. The page we read is linked on every stop, with the date we read it.
- Visit time: the official suggestion when the attraction gives one. When it does not, we plan a time ourselves and say so.
- Walking time: calculated from OpenStreetMap coordinates, as a straight line plus 30% for streets, at 4.8 km/h. It is an estimate, not a route.
- Tickets and free tours: the Civitatis catalogue.
How the plan is assembled
The builder places the main stops first, starting with the ones open on the fewest days of your trip. It groups stops that are close to each other on the same day, orders each day to cut walking, and checks every visit against opening and last-entry times. A lunch break goes in after 12:30. If a stop does not fit, the page says which one and why.
Pace
Fast runs from 9:00 to 19:00 with visits 10% shorter. Balanced runs from 9:30 to 18:30. With kids ends at 17:00, gives each visit 25% more time and leaves out stops that do not work for small children, unless they are a main stop.
What the site cannot do
- Hours change with the season, public holidays and strikes. We show the date of the last check. Confirm on the official site before you go.
- We do not know today's queue, the weather or whether tickets are left for your date.
- Walking times ignore hills, stairs and river crossings. In Lisbon, add some.
Booking links
Some stops have a link to buy tickets or tours on Civitatis. A stop gets at most one link, and only where booking ahead makes a difference. The links never change which stops enter the plan or in what order.
