The Cathedral was built over several centuries on the site of the former main mosque, and it was never fully finished: the south tower stands incomplete. Inside you see a tall, light nave, the carved wooden choir stalls and a row of side chapels. The audioguide covers the main points in about an hour, and a rooftop visit is offered separately.

What to look for

  • The unfinished south tower seen from the square
  • Carved wooden choir stalls

Tickets and booking

Adult ticket €10. The general ticket costs 10 EUR with the audioguide. Entry is free for residents of Málaga, visitors with disabilities and children under 13, without the audioguide.

You can buy at the door or online, at the same price. Buying online avoids the ticket queue, which matters at busy times and on Sunday afternoons, the only time it opens that day.

Getting there

The Cathedral stands a short walk from Calle Larios and Plaza de la Constitución, with the Sagrario church beside it.

Tip

Visit on a weekday morning. If you want the rooftop visit, check the official page first: it has about 200 steps up a narrow spiral staircase and can be cancelled in bad weather.
