Bologna Welcome describes the Quadrilatero as the oldest part of the city, next to Piazza Maggiore. It was the historic commercial district, where the main craft guilds were based since the Middle Ages. Today you find shops and stalls selling fresh pasta, fish, meat, fruit and vegetables, alongside craft workshops and traditional taverns. It is a place to wander and taste rather than a sight to tick off.
