If it rains
Rain is common and does not stop a visit, since the old town has arcades and many stops are indoors. The cathedral museum, the Museum of Pilgrimage, San Martiño Pinario and the Museum of the Galician People are all covered. Keep the roofs, the Alameda and the City of Culture for a dry spell.
Summer afternoons are mild, at 22 to 25 degrees on average, so heat is rarely a problem. The old town has little shade on the open squares, so a hat helps at midday. Carry water for the City of Culture, which is mostly outdoors.
