The Gothic spire was completed in 1492 and stands apart from the basilica, like the Pey-Berland Tower beside the cathedral. It is 114 metres high, the fourth tallest bell tower in France, and the climb has 230 steps. From the top you see the ochre rooftops, the bends of the Garonne, the Pont de Pierre, the quays and the Miroir d'eau. The spire reopened in June 2026 after five years of restoration.
