The palace was built in the late 19th century and is known for its decoration: carved and painted wood ceilings, stucco and tiled floors. The rooms open onto garden courtyards, and the visit follows a one-way route through them. It is easy to walk from the Saadian Tombs and the El Badi Palace, which makes a good half day in the south of the medina.
