The market runs from Piazza Casa Professa towards the bastions of Corso Tukory and goes back to the Arab period. Vendors call out their goods in Palermitan dialect, a tradition known as abbanniata. Stalls sell produce, fish and meat, and street food stands serve the local snacks. It is a lively street rather than a sight to tick off, so allow time to wander.
