The city tourism office describes a walking route that climbs from the sea to the cathedral through the old streets. It passes Plaça Major, the squares around Carrer de Sant Miquel, Plaça de Cort, Plaça de Santa Eulàlia, Carrer de Monti-Sion and Carrer de la Portella, where several historic mansions stand. The route is easy to lose, so a loose plan and a map are enough.

  • Carrer de Monti-Sion and Plaça de Santa Eulàlia

Tip

Walk it in the morning or late afternoon and keep your eyes on the doorways, because many houses hide a courtyard behind a heavy wooden door.
