The Alcázar is the fortress and palace of Segovia, built on the rock at the end of the old town and altered over many centuries. The visit has two parts: the palace and museum rooms, and the Torre de Juan II, which is a separate climb. The official site suggests about 40 to 45 minutes for the palace and museum and no more than 25 minutes for the tower. The silhouette of its turrets is also the best-known view of Segovia.
