Segovia
Segovia in the rain
Rain is most frequent in May, October and November, with nine or ten rain days a month. The Alcázar, the cathedral, the Casa de Moneda, the Machado house and the churches are indoors, so a wet day is easy to fill. Keep the aqueduct and the valley for a dry spell, since the paths are slippery.

Alcázar of Segovia
The royal fortress at the western tip of the old town, with the palace rooms, a museum and the Torre de Juan II. Visitors choose the palace and museum, or add the tower.
Go when it opens, before the groups arrive, and climb the tower first if you want the view of the Eresma valley in clear morning light.
Buy tickets online on the official ticket site. The Alcázar strongly recommends buying ahead, because tickets, especially those with the Torre de Juan II, often sell out on weekends, long weekends and holidays.
From 1 November to 31 March it is open every day from 10:00 to 18:00, and from 1 April to 31 October from 10:00 to 19:30. Last entry is 30 minutes before closing. On 6 November it opens at 11:30, on 24 and 31 December it closes at 14:30, and on 25 December it is closed.
