The palace belonged to Louis of Gruuthuse, whose motto was Plus est en vous. The collection includes large tapestries, stained-glass windows, wooden sculptures, historic lace, Burgundian manuscripts and Chinese porcelain. The highlight is the late 15th-century oratory, which connects the palace to the Church of Our Lady and looks into the Gothic chancel. The balcony gives a view of some of the best-known spots in Bruges.
