Sources place a chapel to St Michael on this hill as early as the 9th century, long before the Gothic church. The cathedral marks 800 years in 2026. Inside you see a long nave, tall stained glass and the Treasury in the chapel of the Holy Sacrament. Below the choir there is an 11th century Romanesque crypt, and the Romanesque remains of the earlier church can be visited separately.
