The Lungarni are the streets that run along both banks of the Arno, lined with palaces such as Palazzo Lanfranchi. The Ponte di Mezzo, a marble bridge, is the scene of the Gioco del Ponte in June, in which twelve teams of twenty push a heavy cart along rails on the bridge. The Luminara di San Ranieri lights the river on 16 June. Outside those days, it is a quiet place for a walk.
