The Dominican church was built from the 13th century, and Alberti completed its marble facade in the 15th century. One ticket covers the church and the museum, with the Green Cloister and the Spanish Chapel. Inside, Masaccio's Trinity is an early example of perspective in painting, and the Tornabuoni Chapel has Ghirlandaio's frescoes. The church stands beside the main station, so it fits an arrival or departure day.

Monday to Thursday 09:00 to 17:30, Friday 11:00 to 17:30, Saturday 09:00 to 17:00, Sunday 13:00 to 17:00. Last admission is one hour before closing. Hours change on some religious holidays, for example early closing at 16:15 on 4 October and at 14:30 on 15 October 2026. Closed to visitors on Good Friday and Holy Saturday.

Tickets and booking

Adult ticket €7.50. The full ticket is 7.50 and covers the basilica and the museum with its cloisters. Tickets can be bought at the ticket office on the day without booking.

Getting there

The church is across from Firenze Santa Maria Novella station, and the Unità tram stop is two minutes away.
