Medici Chapels
The burial place of the Medici beside the church of San Lorenzo. It has the Princes' Chapel in marble and hard stone, and Michelangelo's New Sacristy with the tomb figures of Night, Day, Dawn and Dusk.

The chapels stand behind the church of San Lorenzo and were built to bury the Medici. You enter through the crypt, climb to the Chapel of the Princes, a domed octagon in inlaid marble and hard stone, and then pass to the New Sacristy that Michelangelo designed. His tomb sculptures of Night and Day, Dawn and Dusk lie across two Medici tombs.

Tickets and booking
Adult ticket €11. The ordinary ticket is 11, and a reservation is optional for 3 more. It covers the New Sacristy, the Chapel of the Princes and the crypt.
Getting there
The Piazza di San Lorenzo bus stop is on the doorstep, and the Duomo is about five minutes on foot.
Tip
Michelangelo's hidden room is only open by reservation, in small groups. Check the museum site for slots if you want to see it.
