The church of Santa Engrácia took so long to build that people in Lisbon still say a job drags on like the works of Santa Engrácia. The dome was finished in the 20th century, and in 1966 the building became the National Pantheon. Inside, inlaid marble surrounds the tombs and memorials of presidents, writers and other national figures.
