The square is also called Piazza del Duomo. Four monuments stand on the grass: the Cathedral, the Baptistery, the bell tower that leans and the Camposanto, with two museums in buildings along its edge. Seen from the outside, the whole group is covered in the same white and grey marble. Most visitors walk once around the lawn before deciding which monuments to enter.
