The church was built quickly, between 1329 and 1383, with the help of the parish and the port guilds, among them the bastaixos who carried stone down from the Montjuïc quarry. The interior is one tall, plain space held up by slender octagonal columns, and most of the later furnishings were lost in a fire in 1936. The paid cultural visit adds the towers, the roof terraces, the crypt and the gallery museum.
