The church was founded in the 13th century, served as a mosque under Ottoman rule and was rebuilt in the Baroque period. Its Gothic look was restored in the late 19th century. Inside, painted patterns cover the walls and vaults, and an ecclesiastical art collection is attached. The tower climb is 197 steps with no lift, and a short guided tour is included.

Tickets and booking

Adult ticket HUF 3,400. A church ticket costs HUF 3,400 for an adult, or HUF 5,000 with an audio guide. The tower ticket costs HUF 4,000.

Church tickets can be bought online and stay valid through the calendar year. Tower tickets are valid only for the date and time chosen.

Getting there

It faces Szentháromság tér, about 10 minutes on foot from the top of the funicular or the Dísz tér bus stop.
