The former royal yacht, now moored at Ocean Terminal in Leith, with five decks you walk through on a self guided tour with an audio guide. Most visitors spend about two hours aboard.

Britannia served the royal family for more than 40 years before it was retired and moved to Leith. A self guided audio tour runs through the state rooms, the crew quarters, the engine room and the bridge. The commentary comes in many languages. It is a good wet weather choice since most of the visit is indoors.

From April to October it opens at 09:30, last entry is at 16:00 and it closes at 18:00. From November to March it opens at 10:00, last entry is at 15:00 and it closes at 17:00. It is closed on 25 December and 1 January.

Tickets and booking

Adult ticket £23. The price shown is the adult ticket bought online in advance. Tickets are also sold on the day, by card only, and the annual pass is included.

Getting there

Ocean Terminal is the nearest tram stop, and several Lothian bus routes run to the shopping centre on the same site.
