How the total is made

Tickets are the adult prices of the stops in the plan. Transport is one 24-hour pass per day, or four single rides where there is no pass. Food goes from two inexpensive meals and a coffee per day to one inexpensive meal, half of a mid-range dinner for two and two coffees.

The centre is walkable, and the climbs and steps are the main cost. Lothian buses and the tram cover the longer hops to Leith, the Royal Botanic Garden and the airport. A day ticket pays off if you take three or more rides in one day.
