A small late baroque church built by the Asam brothers as their private chapel. Every surface is covered in stucco, paint and gilding, so the visit is short and intense.

The brothers Cosmas Damian and Egid Quirin Asam built the church between 1733 and 1746 next to their own house. The interior measures only about 22 by 8 metres, which makes the decoration feel packed in. It remains a place of worship and not a museum, so voices stay low. Plan about 15 to 30 minutes.
What to look for
- Painted and stuccoed ceiling
- Gilded high altar
- Stucco figures along the walls
- Asam House facade next door
