The building was Seville's merchants' exchange before the archive moved in during the 18th century. It now holds a very large collection of documents about the Spanish empire in the Americas and the Philippines. Visitors see the monumental area and a display of original papers, not the reading rooms. The visit is short, free and needs no reservation.

Tip

A free stop that fits between the cathedral and the Alcázar. It is a short visit, so it works as a filler on a tight day.
