Rialto Market

Fruit, vegetable and fish stalls beside the Grand Canal, where Venetians have bought food for centuries. It is a morning sight.

Data checked on October 5, 2026

The market occupies the same quarter as the Rialto Bridge, which is where Venetian trade began. The fish stalls stand under a loggia and the produce stalls spread out in the open. You see the lagoon catch laid out on ice and seasonal vegetables from the islands. It takes an hour at most, so it fits easily before the museums open.

What to look for

  • Fish stalls with the lagoon catch
  • Seasonal vegetables from the islands
  • The loggia of the fish market
  • The canal landing where goods arrive by boat

Opening hours

Hours not confirmed. Check the official site.

Go in the morning, when the stalls are full. By early afternoon most have packed up. The produce market is closed on Sundays, and the fish stalls keep their own days, so check before you plan around them.
