Vajdahunyad Castle
A group of buildings in City Park that copy Hungarian architecture from different periods, beside a lake used for boating in summer and skating in winter. The grounds are free to walk.

The complex was built for the 1896 millennium exhibition and mixes Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque sections. The main part copies a castle in Transylvania, and a Baroque wing holds the Museum of Hungarian Agriculture, which has its own hours and ticket. Most visitors walk around the outside and across the bridge to the courtyard, which takes under an hour.

- The copy of a Romanesque chapel
- The statue of Anonymus
- The lake with boats or ice

Free. The grounds are free. The agriculture museum inside has a separate ticket.
Getting there
Take the M1 metro to Hősök tere or Széchenyi fürdő and walk through the park for 5 to 10 minutes.
Tip
Pair it with Heroes' Square and the Széchenyi bath, because all three sit within a few minutes of each other.
