Data checked on October 5, 2026

The museum opened in 1925 and fills a large complex on the Museumsinsel with working machines, full-size aircraft and historical workshops. The official site says you can spend a whole day here, and that is accurate. Most visitors choose by interest: flight, mining, musical instruments or energy. Stairs and long corridors are part of the visit, so wear comfortable shoes.

What to look for

  • Aeronautics hall with full-size aircraft

Tip

Pick two or three halls before you go. Trying to see everything leaves you tired by early afternoon.
