Palácio da Bolsa

The palace was built in the 19th century for the merchants of Porto. Entry is by guided tour only, in Portuguese, Spanish, French or English, and each tour lasts about 30 minutes. It passes through the Hall of Nations under an iron and glass dome, the Noble Staircase and the Arabian Room, whose decoration was inspired by the Alhambra. The rooms are formal and richly finished, and the guide explains who used them.

Opening hours

Open daily from 09:00 to 18:30. The palace closes to visitors from 16:00 on 10 October and all day on 24 October 2026. On 24 December the last entry is at 13:00, and on 31 December at 16:00.

Tickets and booking

Adult ticket €14. The ticket is for the guided tour. Children up to 12 enter free with their parents, and reduced tickets need proof of eligibility at the entrance.

Tickets cannot be bought online for the same day. Buy ahead online, or at the ticket office, where you choose the visit time and the language of the tour. The language is set by order of arrival, and the day of an online ticket cannot be changed.

Getting there

São Bento (Metro) is about ten minutes away on foot, downhill, and the palace stands on Rua Ferreira Borges beside Ribeira.
