Rome's large central park was laid out around the villa of the Borghese family, with lawns, pines, a small lake and several museums. You can hire bikes or rowing boats, and the Pincio terrace on the western edge looks over Piazza del Popolo. The paths are long and shaded in places, which makes the park a good break between museum visits.
