The Frari is the Franciscan church of Venice, built in brick in the Gothic style and one of the largest churches in the city. The interior holds a run of major Venetian works, with Titian's Assumption on the high altar, and the artist's own monument inside. The sacristy has a Bellini altarpiece that rewards a few minutes of attention. The visit is quiet compared with St Mark's.

In the summer period, to 31 October, hours are Monday to Friday 09:00 to 19:30, Saturday 09:00 to 18:00 and Sunday and holidays 13:00 to 18:00. From 1 November to Easter Sunday, Monday to Saturday close at 18:00. Last entry is 30 minutes before closing. The church closes for weddings, funerals, concerts and baptisms, and on Christmas, Easter and 15 August.

The San Tomà vaporetto stop is about five minutes on foot from the church.
