NEMO is a science museum in a green ship-shaped building at the Oosterdok, designed by Renzo Piano. The exhibits are hands-on, with experiments, labs and live demonstrations that suit children. You choose what to try, so the visit is flexible and the time depends on how long the children stay with each one.

Open Tuesday to Sunday 10:00 to 17:30. Mondays are closed except in school holidays, on public holidays and from April to September. In autumn 2026 it also opens on Mondays 12, 19 and 26 October and 2 November.

Tickets and booking

Adult ticket €21.50. Tickets cost the same for visitors aged 4 and over, and children aged 0 to 3 enter free. Museumkaart and I amsterdam City Card holders also need a start time.

Tickets have a start time. Book online in advance, mainly for weekends and school holidays.

Getting there

Walk about 15 minutes from Amsterdam Centraal along the Oosterdok.
