The museum opened in 1973 to house the works kept by Vincent's brother Theo and his family. The collection follows his life from the Netherlands to Paris, Arles and the last months in Auvers, with paintings, drawings and letters. The route is one way and has a lot of reading, so busy hours move slowly.
