A former hospital complex of tiled pavilions joined by underground tunnels, designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner. The self-guided visit walks through the gardens and several restored buildings.

Lluís Domènech i Montaner designed this hospital complex, built between 1902 and 1930, and it kept working as a hospital until 2009. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, together with the Palau de la Música. The brick pavilions are covered with tile, mosaic and sculpture and sit in gardens, linked by underground tunnels. The self-guided visit takes in the administration building and several restored pavilions, and part of it is outdoors.

Open every day from 9:30 to 18:30 from April to October, and 9:30 to 17:00 from November to March. The last access is 30 minutes before closing. Closed on 25 December. Free entry on a few set days a year.

Tickets and booking
Adult ticket €18. The self-guided visit costs a little less after 14:00. Guided tours and the audio guide are extra, and there are no guided tours on free-entry days.
Getting there
Take metro L5 to Sant Pau | Dos de Maig, a short walk from the entrance on Carrer de Sant Antoni Maria Claret.
Tip
Combine it with the Sagrada Família, which is a short metro ride away.
