The cathedral reached its present form around 1905 and was rebuilt after the war. The visit takes in the Imperial Staircase, the main church, the baptismal and wedding church and the Hohenzollern crypt, which reopened in March 2026 after renovation. A stair climb with no lift leads to the dome gallery, 50 metres above the ground, with a view over Museum Island and the centre. The ticket includes an audio guide, and about 90 minutes is a sensible allowance.
