Gendarmenmarkt is one of the central squares of historic Berlin. The Konzerthaus concert hall stands between the French Cathedral and the German Cathedral, which face each other across the square. The German Cathedral houses an exhibition on parliamentary history and the French Cathedral holds the Huguenot Museum. In Advent a Christmas market with wooden booths fills the square, and in summer open air concerts are held on the Konzerthaus steps.
