Admission to the museum is free. The collection begins with Valencian altarpieces from the Gothic period and moves through the Renaissance and baroque, with works by Goya, Velázquez, El Greco and Murillo. A room is given to Sorolla, the painter of Valencian light. Allow about an hour and a half.

Tuesday to Sunday 10:00 to 20:00, closed on Mondays. Last entry is 19:30, which leaves little time, so arrive earlier. Closed on 1 January and 25 December, and open 10:00 to 14:00 on 24 and 31 December.

Getting there

The museum is a short walk across the river bed from the Torres de Serranos, and the Alameda metro stop is about twelve minutes away.
