The gate belonged to the medieval wall, which was pulled down in 1865. Only Serranos and Quart were left standing. The climb is short and the roof terrace is small, so the visit takes about half an hour. The gate faces the Turia gardens, which is the best view from the top.

Monday to Saturday 10:00 to 19:00, Sunday and public holidays 10:00 to 14:00. Last entry is 30 minutes before closing. Closed on 1 and 6 January, 1 May and 25 December. The city council says visits depend on daylight and can be limited by rain, fog or strong wind.

The nearest EMT stop is Torres dels Serrans, and the Turia gardens start at the foot of the gate.

Pick a clear afternoon and climb in the second half of the day, when the light on the river bed is softer.
