The Reichstag was opened in 1894 and rebuilt with a glass dome after reunification. A ramp winds up inside the dome to the roof terrace, a climb of 230 metres up and down. An audioguide in twelve languages is available on the roof terrace and explains the skyline and the work of parliament. Allow time for the security check at the entrance, which is the part that varies most.

What to look for

  • The spiralling ramp inside the glass dome
  • The roof terrace view over the government quarter and the Tiergarten
  • The audioguide commentary on the skyline
