Port is aged in Gaia rather than in Porto, in cool lodges close to the river. Each house runs its own tour, usually around an hour: you walk through the barrel halls, hear how ruby, tawny and white port differ, and finish with a tasting. Houses differ in hours, prices and tour languages, so check the one you choose. The Gaia quay is also where you get the view back across the water to Ribeira.

General Torres (Metro) is the nearest station, and the cellars face the river along Avenida de Diogo Leite.
