Castel dell'Ovo stands on the islet of Megaride, where the first Greek settlers landed, and is one of the oldest castles in the city. The Borgo Marinari beside it is a small fishing harbour with a jetty and a promenade. There is nothing to buy a ticket for here. The visit is a walk, a long look at the bay and a pause at the water.
