The palace was begun in 1738 for Charles of Bourbon as a home for the Farnese art collection and as a hunting lodge. The galleries show paintings from the 13th to the 18th century, with Neapolitan masters and works by Titian, Caravaggio and Artemisia Gentileschi. The royal apartment, with its porcelain, is on the same floor. The park behind is a quiet end to the visit.
