A long public garden on the Chiaia waterfront, free to enter, with shaded paths and the Anton Dohrn aquarium inside. It is the easiest place in the centre to sit in the shade.

The garden covers about 11 hectares between Piazza della Repubblica and Piazza Vittoria, with entrances along Riviera di Chiaia and Via Caracciolo. Paths run under old trees past fountains and statues. The Anton Dohrn Zoological Station inside houses what the city calls the oldest aquarium in Europe. The seafront promenade alongside looks across the bay to Vesuvius.
