Kampa Island
A park island between the Vltava and the Čertovka channel, with lawns, an old mill wheel and views of the Charles Bridge. It is free and open at all hours.

Kampa is an island formed by the river and a side channel, where you can see the large wheel of the fifteenth century Grand Priory Mill. The grass is used for picnics and for sitting by the water, and several old gardens were joined into one park of about 2.65 hectares. The Museum Kampa sits on the Charles Bridge side, and Lesser Town is just behind.
What to look for
- The mill wheel on the Čertovka channel
- The lawns and gardens at the south end
- The view of Charles Bridge from the riverbank
- The stairs down from the bridge

Getting there
Trams 12, 20 and 22 stop at Hellichova, or walk down the stairs from Charles Bridge in two minutes.
Tip
Walk down the stairs from Charles Bridge and go along the water on the Čertovka side, which is quieter than the bridge.
