Prague
Prague in the rain
Rain falls on 6 to 10 days a month, so keep an indoor option for each day. The Jewish Museum synagogues, the National Museum, the Strahov Library, the Castle buildings and St Nicholas Church all work in wet weather. Views from the Petřín tower and the bridge are poor in low cloud, and wet cobbles make the Castle approach slippery.

Prague Castle
A walled hilltop complex with St Vitus Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace, St George's Basilica and Golden Lane. The courtyards are free to enter, and the main sights inside need a ticket and a security check.
Arrive at opening, walk straight to the cathedral, then do the Old Royal Palace and the basilica, and leave Golden Lane for the end.
Tickets for the circuits are sold at the information centres inside the Castle. The main circuit can also be bought online through a ticketing partner named on the official page. A ticket is valid for two days, and each building can be entered once.
From 1 April to 31 October the historical buildings open from 9:00 to 17:00. St Vitus Cathedral opens at 12:00 on Sundays, with last entry at 16:40. From 1 November the buildings close at 16:00. The Castle grounds are open daily from 6:00 to 22:00, and the gardens are closed from 1 November to the end of February. On 10 October 2026 the cathedral opens only from 12:30 to 17:00.

Old Town Hall and Astronomical Clock
A Gothic town hall with a tall tower, a chapel and the medieval astronomical clock. The visit goes up the tower by lift for a view over the square.
Go in the first hour after opening, when the official early bird discount of 50 percent applies and the tower is quiet.
