Strahov is a Premonstratensian monastery founded in the twelfth century, with a historic library of old books and manuscripts. A regular visit shows the painted halls from the doorway and does not allow entry, to protect the books from humidity. There is also an exhibition on the library and a cabinet of curiosities. The joint tour adds the gallery and the historical parts of the abbey, but not the church.

What to look for

  • The Theological and Philosophical Halls seen from the doorway
